Aaaaaand nearly three weeks after the event I`d also like to add a few lines.
It all started with Mr. Pink`s visit to Germany, something which we had talked about before, but which I certainly did not really expect to occur.
It`s always weird to put a face, a voice and an actual person to someone you only know from the `net. But in this case that made it all the more pleasant. An absolutely fantastic guy and I would love to have only half of his energy.
As he had sent the Exocrine earlier to us for painting I essentially had two mystery guests with me.
We spent some time getting acquainted and had more than five hours on our ride to Cologne to rapid-exchange a myriad of `nid ideas in burst mode.
Much fun was had and Games Day suddenly came up very fast. First we entered the four models we brought along and then said hi to Jes and Phil.
Immediately after that the Warpshadow meeting was scheduled and there was finally a chance to put some faces to the likes of Hydra, Harald, Terrorfex, etc.
This also meant we could gaze at Hydra`s amazing models. He brought along the Dominatrix, his NEC Stealer gang and other stuff along. It all was even better than in the pics.
I had also brought my Godzilly army along.
The whole meeting was rather frantic, because we had so much to talk in so little time. But it`s been a blast to meet some of you in person.
Sadly we didn`t get to meet Dreachon who was waiting at the stairs in the main hall. Funnily enough Jes and him had a conversation about where to find the rest.
After that Mr. Pink and me urgently needed a break. We escaped the building, got some food and visited the Dom (huuuge church).
We spent some time with Jes and Phil, but time was short, so we were invited to the after show party which is normally only for staff. Yay.
Before the Demon winners were announced both of us were quite sceptical about our respective chances. The competition was that strong.
Eventually our winning models were announced in exactly the right order to make it even more exciting. It started with Bronze for Duel (Katja & me), then Bronze for 40K Large Monster (Mr. Pink & Katja). As I already stood on the stage I had the chance to congratulate Mr. Pink first hand. This meant that I nearly overheard that Silver for 40K Large Monster also went to me. Adrenaline then meant I only perceived half of what happened around me. When Gold for 40K Squad was announced I had already forgotten about the silver and wondered why so many statues were at my feet.
That virtual shower of Demons came quite unexpected and -of course- was all the better for it. But I didn`t forget that there were many people in the audience who had worked just as hard on their models and had to go home empty handed.
Still, I guess this will probably have been my last Golden Demon, so I am all the more happy to go this way.
After a desperatly needed shower the after show party meant that we finally got some time to talk to Hydra, Jes & Phil. It also meant we probably had more beer than was good for us, but Mr. Pink blamed it on the wrong kind the day after. (weak excuse

)
Speaking of that we had most of a day to hang out with Hydra and the British studio guests which was definitely the icing on the cake.
A gazillion ideas were exchanged and plans were made. But we had to pledge a secret vow never to reveal a word that was spoken on this fateful day.
After Mr. Pink had left Germany in what seemed like a blur I was desperately in need of recovery which is why I needed so long to drop a few lines here. But my therapist say I am getting better.
W-h-a-t a w-e-e-k-e-n-d !
Many heartfelt thanks to Mr. Pink, Hydra, Terrorfex, Harald and (just for the chance they might take a peak here) Jes & Phil.
P.S.: We now have a secret-society code to greet other nid players courtey of Jes. You just hold a hand in front of your chin with the fingers pointing down, then wriggle these to mimic Feeder Tentacles. Voila.
