My hive needs to stretch it's legs. All of them.
I need my versatility back.
I need my effectiveness back.
I need that fear that other players get seeing all of the models on the table.

I need to be a bug again!

Yup. Sounds like this might be the best codex for the bugs since 3rd.

For once, I am looking forward to our new book. The Hive Tyrant changes alone made me REALLY happy. Once I know what is what in the new book, I may be going on a Hive Tyrant modeling spree. I'll get those old models up and going again.

Tyranids have really suffered from a lack of real choice since 4th edition, 8th is looking extremely god of really being about to make neat designer armies, and make use of all those models again. The shake up of the rules have breather real possibilities into out big monsters again as the number game just aren't so bleak. Might need to get some games in if the codex lives up to what's coming out now. Even if it's not top-tier, but versatile I'll be damn happy.

I really got sick of only running the same kind of army all the time to at least have a half way fair fight.

This new codex is going to take me out of Nid-bernation, my long journey in the emptiness of 40K is soon to reach a new biomass buffet.
I am holding all sales of my old metal Hive Tyrant because of this.
I am holding all weapons glueing and start to rethink all that magnetezing process.
I am starting to clean and polish all my beloved Warpshadow Custom Dice.
I am hoping that our fellows members brings us crazy hobby projects.
I am hoping to find a job to buy plastic.

Was'nt Nidvember always the time when we rejoiced of any (good) news from the Hivemind?

Cheers,

Lak

Just going though my dusty half done conversions lol... This Hive tyrant must of been my "Templant" build with that maw claw thing... I have NO idea what this should be now lmao. Guess I shall wait for the book because I really like this bug as is...

My 25% done Tyranid Knight would have to be something else too...

Only things magnetized on my bugs are Carnmifexen heads and weapons, those giant lash whips on that big toxic dude, and big wings.

I should of magnetized my Hive Tyrant arms, but the conversions have poses that would of gone wonky with the magnets :( I like having all my Tyrants different too, I feel they should be unique specimens.

I am sooo excited. I already love the way 8th ed. plays. The index was a great way to deal with the army, even though it has some flaws.

The codex sounds extremely promising though. Can't wait to play with it.

I definitely am. I'm really pleased with the Hive Fleet Adaptations. None of them are really all that bad, and there's something for everyone. That a number of them focus on close combat is really appealing to me.

I developed the backstory of my personal Hive Fleet heavily on the old Poison rule from 4e onwards. Knowing I can really play up to the fluff of my backstory with Hive Fleet Gorgon is nice! I also like the return of Screamer-killers (my favorite loadout for my Fexes of old). Can't wait to get my hands on the codex and go at it!

watching one of the youtubes, i can theorize toxicrene + snotpod= shinanigans.

not overly impressed with the hive fleet specifics, or the stratagems, but Im interested in the potential that has opened up. especially looking at those beautiful carnifex. so many builds. and even if some of our MC got a cost buff the overall seems to have gotten cheaper, so more units and more slots filled

I just finished the codex, and I'm very happy with it. As a note, shrikes and sky-slashers are gone. Ah well, it was time to try something different anyway... :)

I mean if they were not gonna give the Tyranid Prime wings, the whole Shrike concept was so underpowered as it was. If you could have a usefull medium flying leader option, shrike would have thrived!

My store ran out of codeices before I got there..... bugger, one more week wait for me then.
