Any new units? I've been glancing through these rumors, but not seeing anything. Granted, I don't really need any more models, but that seems weird.

So Shadow of the Warp range increased, Synape range increased and Instinctive behavior improved imo

Rumor (confirmed) today is that Devourers are punching up: 6 shots/per, S6, no AP. Should be a pretty scary weapon again.

I foresee hybrid fleets over singular, just to benefit from the multitude of options. how ever what has been noted for command points? maybe the occasional re-roll or counter assault is the only ones i have use for personally. are their any new ones listed that may provide options?

I'm glad they fixed their deathspitter/devourer mess up and have the two weapons unique again. I really don't know why they messed that up so bad lol

They had a warhammer TV show about the new Nids dex for an hour yesterday. As these has been officially shown by GW, you get the stuff here :)

In the show they did talk about a lot of other stuff, but didn't show pictures of everything.

Anyone that's curious, here's a rundown of the entire codex, although from the sounds of it, all us old guard are probably going have one in our grubby little claws as soon as it's out.

Highlights of the two and a half hour video, so you don't have to watch it:

Broodlords is an hq character but is jacked!
Hive tyrant is pretty status quo but still excellent, lost thorax upgrade it seems so no more Templant.
Swarmlord is still expensive and great.
Tyranid prime is nerfed unless you are taking Tyranid warriors which get bonuses within 6" as opposed to the unit it was attached to before.
Tervigon is more expensive but generates 10 termagants a round with no penalty or chance of stopping.... good god!
Old one eye looks the same but now gives bonuses to carnifex!
Nerothrope is the same as the upgraded character, just a character now.

Hormagaunts bounding leap is an automatic 6" for consolidating and piling in, otherwise the same.

Tyrant guard can take a wound for a tyrant (and/or swarmlord) within 3" on a 2+.
Deathleaper still seems to be elite still and not an hq again.
Zoenthropes now only affect the closest enemy unit with warp blast... but the is now 24" range. Not sure how I feel about this.
Venomthroprs spore cloud gets better the more you have (-1 to be hit except for MCs, 3+ affects MCs, 6 causes bigger area of affect).
Haruspex got a good boost in attacks and healing.

Both spores still are overpriced.

Exocrine and Tyranofex both get to shoot twice if they don't move!
Carnifex scything talons price went DOWN? Madness! I think they removed the limit on two Venom Cannons per model, but it's still on Barbed Strangler, but all the melee bonuses are cheap and deadly!
Screamer Killers are back... kind of a fixed old school throwback melee build.
Thornbacks are a third carnifex build, which is ranged based and ignores cover.
Mawlok is fixed, they pop up and roll d6 (1. No damage 2-3. 1 mortal wound 4-5. d3 mortal wounds 6. 3 mortal wounds) for each unit within 2" when it comes up., and they juiced up its melee attacks.
Trygon subterranean assault is simplified. When the trygon arrives 1 unit assigned to the Trygon during deployment in reserves comes at the same time within 3" of the Trygon. No more markers for coming up afterwards.

Harpy and Crone look to be flyers now, move 30" for both.

Spyrocyst can just keep spitting out your choice of 3 spore mines or 1 mucloid continually, no longer once per turn.

-----------

There are like a dozen artifacts now, several are hive fleet dependent and/or weapon type dependent. You get one free if you're Battle Forged.

-----------
Warlords traits have regular and hive fleet dependent variants.
-----------

Looks good, lots of new art, just sad it's the 4th edition cover art.
Looks to be a win overall, we'll see how it plays.

Did you compare with the previous codex? Because many of these things (Or at least a bunch of them) were the same in the index :)

But the codex improved alot over the index, which is extremely great.

I really haven't played much with the index so far, maybe 2 games, but it was my simple Tyranid Prime, Zeonthropes, and a table full of Hormagaunts to get a feel of the new system, so I didn't really delve (and it didn't work well). Also, the guy in the video seemed surprised by the stuff I highlighted too, that's why I wrote them down.

Good point :) There are so many great changes. From the last codex to the index, we improved quite a bit, but the codex helped that even further. I am excited to try out the new codex.
