@vonny

Not sure about the efficiency :) The guard block well in width, leaving the above unshielded. So only the Tyrant head is in LoS :) Anyway, I am pretty sure I can do some easy custom work if it really displease me. The body is an awesome basis. Mostly because it is in plastic!

On the tyrant guard- I think a better scheme would suit him better, plus Endobai says they look better with crushing claws.
Oh and have you noticed that as well as holding a marine head, the other hand is pinning the rest of the body to ground?

Stupidly excited by this release- some of the combo boxes are just as tempting as the new releases.
The Haruspex… love that model… eating marines… "GET IN MA BELLY!!!"

@Snapdragon- cheers for the fluff on the Haruspex- I never played Nids in epic.

holy *** batman! You're right. Oh wow, that looks awesome. They only need to make the marine a bit brighter to have him stand out a bit more...

Luckily, I play darker nids, and bright yellow marines :)

Edit: If this is an example of the show, don't tell - mindset they have with this codex, I'm happy. What's more iconic to the nids being a real threat than showing how they're ripping apart humanity's greatest defenders - the space marine?

OMG THAT'S A GIANT GRABBYTONGUE FLYING OUT OF ITS MOUTH FULL OF TENTACLES!!!!!

/capslock disengaged

I was thinking this might be a good one for the "closed mouth" experiment, but that tongue is awesome. I'm definitely getting two.

MUST BUY MUST BUY.

Does this beast have a transport capacity? If so I can imagine the gaunts running out of its mouth

Imagine it running into a vehicle, breaking it apart and using that vehicles newly made door to flood it over with hormagants.

I am up for that! Though it must just be wishthinking.

I like the new pictures so far but I am worried genestealers will still suck and if they give us another big bug with a gun-what happens with the tyrannofex? I really like that model but is it going to stay overpriced in points so they can sell the new one? Probably. :(

It looks like the Tyrannofex and the Exocrine are about the same size......Tyranno proxies for exo?

Hopefully genestealers will be able to hide in the Haruspex's gullet and then assault straight out of it taking the benefits of an open topped transport beast with assualt grenades (tentacles). Haruspex throw up some genestealer......genestealers kill everything the then embark back into Haruspex's gob.....move onto next target and kill

So many more things to buy. Damn you Games Workshop!

As much as these models are gribble-tastic, I'm mostly looking forward to the rules. I don't think they can mess it up anymore than it is. Everything after chaos marines has been pretty good IMO. Hopefully fexes can go back to being budget beasties to leave more points for the new big bugs!

Even a sucky genestealer is still pretty good. They won't drop their WS or I or rending abilities. The only thing that might change is a points bump, but I doubt it: they're already fairly expensive. I wouldn't expect much change.

The Haruspex was a pure assault beast and doesn't have transport capabilities. Neither does the Exocrine. So that one was pure 4chan trolling, I'm guessing (or someone saw the picture above and just assumed the giant mouth was perfect for horking up tiny beasties).

So no "Open-topped transport" in the works unless 1) there's something else coming out that we haven't seen yet, 2) they greatly changed the Haruspex's role.

There was a pic posted of a partial of the codex cover... It looked awesome but the mods on Warseer nuked the whole thread and it's all gone now.

This from Commisar Mercs on Warseer:

Quote:
Re: Tyranid Rumor thread?
Yeah I missed a lot last night too.

Here are a couple of tidbits I found this morning (THESE ARE RUMORS NOT CONFIRMED)

1. Synapse gives eternal warrior
2. Gargoyles are troops.
3. Trygons (primes), Carnifex, Hive Tyrant, Tyrannofex, Venomthropes have significant point decreases
4. Zoanthropes come with Psychic Scream, and warp blast as standard
5. Brain leach devourers no longer strength 6
6. The Crone has a massive vector strike
7. Tervigon, Warriors, gene stealers have significant price increases
8. No Doom, Parasite, Spore pod.
9. The big cannon bug has two different firing modes, one being a D3 Large Blast and one being multiple high strength, low AP shooting attacks.
10. Hungry eyes bug has the ability to magna grapple vehicles and enemy troops.

Psychic powers

Psychic Powers:
Primaris: Dominion, blessing, +6" synapse range for the caster
Catalyst - FnP for caster and unit, and another unit in 12"
Paroxysm
the Horror - Broodlord have this power
Onslaught
5. Psychic Scream - 1 charge, nova 6", each target takes 2d6+2 minus its Ld wounds without covers and armors
6. Warp Blast - 2charges, witchfire, unchanged

Will have access to BRB powers.

Interesting stuff if true...

Edit: that codex cover partial is viewable at Dakka Dakka... Can anyone grab it before it's gone too?
Edit Edit: Gargoyle bit about being troops is now stated as incorrect / false.
