Alien Swarm...coming out on the 19th.

For those of you more frugal types let me just get this out in the open...IT'S FREE. To top it off, it seems like it could be replayable and entertaining for quite some time with co-op action. With source tools included with it, could be easy to mod the game for some varied alien blasting hijinks.

EDIT: Only downside I forsee with the game is no Mac support noted on the store page... sorry Mr. Pink :(

Nice!

It looks similar to the new Alien Breed. I loved the original (what was it? 15 or 18 years ago?). It wasn't a ground breaker, but it was stacks of planometric co-op xenomorph blasting fun. So I got pretty excited when I saw that Team 17 remade it - but I downloaded the demo, and it was pants. :( So I am desperately hoping this Alien Swarm will fill the isometric co-op xenomorph blasting gap in my life. :P

Pity about Alien Breed, think I remember seeing the vids and it piquing my interests, and I never realized it was a remake. Don't think I would worry too much about the quality/fun of this one though, appears Valve liked the project so much they HIRED the whole team afterwards! I would think looking back on such things as Half Life & Team Fortress, that Valve has pretty sensible taste in the realms of all video gamedum. (b~_^)b

This sounds pretty fun, especially with the coop. Too bad I won't be able to do that for a while to come...

Excellent! I'm looking forward to it when it downloads.

I might have to challenge you for the worst internet connection title Bob. I started downloading 10 hours ago and just reached the 51% mark..... :P

It's surprisingly good for a free game. I keep calling the player characters power rangers though lol.

Hah! Yeah I guess their suits are all solid primary/secondary colors. Punching and drop kicking these little critters is dangerous, but fun! Isn't there a character with a "melée" bonus?

I'm looking forward to playing with some of you guys in multiplayer. (I am enjoying the single player, but so far I haven't found a way to not get everyone really really killed.)

Oh, I'm certain it isn't your lacking. The ai marines are very erm.... special. One thing that helps when you utilize bots (you can spawn them via command scripts in multiplayer) is pressing #'s 2-4 to order them to use their secondary equip. They still like to stand there picking their noses sometimes though...
