Rawr, hello all, after some lurking, and my first account being mistaken for a spam bot, KrewL RaiN the Norn Queen comes with her still growing fleet of buggy goodness kak. I hart crazy aliens and creatures. When I stumbled upon the Tyranid race I was all, omfg epic win, and recently been starting to collect and paint some up. The Warhammer 40k universe is also some amazing sci fi goodness.

I don't have many photos mainly cause my camera sucks, and I have done some more work on them. (Washes, base colouring, and with the coming of those new awesome washes been touching up the non carapace bits). So these are old shots from my Deviant Art gallery. I also haven't played a game of the hammarrr so I did some research before spawning my minions.

Flying Tyrant
Old Shot: http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Mr ... t-76842216
Updates: He has 4 sythes now, but I love those boneswords cause they are cool lookin. If only I had the stuff for magnetizing these guys, then I can have my happy bonesword look and the switch on the sythes in case someone is all "cant let you do that Starfox". Also took off the implant attack for warp field.

Stabbehfex
Old Shot: http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Mr ... x-76841263
Updates: I turned the scythe tail into a tail that looks like the hive tyrants, mainly cause they kinda look silly with such a skinny tail and huge bulk of mass upwards. So I made a counterbalance like tail. The spikehs are Reinforced Chitton. If it was gonna be Thornback, it will have HUGE spikes, not tiny little thorns. Dunno how tiny thorn spikes count as double size xD. His twin is still under construction. It has a broken tusk just for some variation, and his pose is more of a charging lunge.

Lictor
Old Shot: http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Pekaboo-79974171
Updates: Basicly touchups, loved how this guy turned out.

Broodlord
Old Shot: http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/GE ... s-76840292
Updates: Just touchups. Unfortunately, it looks like a ballerina dancer then a leaping lunger xDxD. Tempted to find some nice lace for a tutu xD.

Venom Cannon Warrior

Old Shot:
http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Ve ... w-76840816
Updates: Basic Touchups. Not a leaper though, hes just kinda just doing a little hop to get a nice shot =P

Melee Warrior
Old Shot: http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Da ... s-79974921
Updates: Been touched up and is with his buddy who is leaping like a mad nid. The 3rd is under construction, and its pose reminds me of a basketball player going for a slam dunk xD

Devourer Warrior
Old Shot: http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/I- ... r-79974497
Updates: Touchups and has 2 brood buddy's, with 2 more on the way. I wasn't shure what way to go with pewpewage and research sayz the usual loadout is deathspitters or devourers. Went devourers cause they look like some major ouch in some situations. Non leaping, just wanted some variation in the leg positioning.

Rippahs
Old Shot: http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/An ... s-76839825
Updates: Touchups and enough Rippers for 6 bases, but only have enough bases for 5. Said bases are already done, but number 6 comes when I have the spare $ to get some medium bases. Going to stick the infestation markers on medium bases too so its not just buying a bag for one base xD

Hive Fleet Cicada total models:
1 Flying Tyrant
1 Broodlord (haven't decided on his friends yet, should they be the tutu squad xDxD)
3 Melee Warriors
5 Devourer Warriors
1 Venom Warrior
1 Lictor
16 Termagaunts
16 Stabbygaunts
16 Genestealers
6 Rippers
2 Stabbyfexes

Wants: Sniperfex, but cant decide on TL strangler or VC and BS.

On the side:
2 Gargoyles
1 Xenomorph looking stabbygaunt, the second one ain't built cause it was missing a scythe. I call it bananahead =P
10 Bloodletters and Skulltaker (Non nids but <3 some of those Chaos Daemons).

And some niddy art I have done:
http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Ge ... r-25331066
http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Si ... y-23004007
http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Ty ... r-22670888
http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Ty ... r-20957381

http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/St ... x-72294449
http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Ty ... e-88498756

And beware my crappy camera in action, with WIP actions!
http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Oh ... e-83781134
http://krewl-rain.deviantart.com/art/Oh ... s-75931679

Welcome!

I really like your paint scheme, it looks really good! The modelling work I see looks very fitting for the models too.

G'day KrewL RaiN, welcome to the posting world of warpshadow! And congratulations of being upgraded from spambot to biomass. :D

Mate, you have a very striking colour scheme and the army looks great overall. You conversion work is solid and your bases look great.

And your artwork! It is brilliant! It is a shame you missed the tyranid art competition we've just finished. (I still think Vermis would've won, but we'd love to have had you in there too.)

You're right in that there is some brilliant work floating around this board, but don't be shy, we welcome everyone no matter their still level. All you need is a love of Tyranids and to play nice. :)

Pedantic bit. Please read the FAQ's mate. As this board is worldwide we strongly encourage correct English. Not only does it make the board classier, it makes it much easier to read for our many members for whom English is a second language. The occasional use of netspeak (I was all, omfg, epic win, GG, kak, I hart, totally >>>>> my fleet xD) The occasional bit is okay and it can add emphasis, but long strings of it can be very hard to read, and even harder to translate.

Yeah I just used it in small doses there for a bit of emphasis. No fears I will keep it down =P (I love firefox spell checking cause I am generally horrid at spelling).

If I can ever borrow a camera thats decent I will post updated shots, when the touch ups are done on the existing models hehe.

Welcome!
Your fleet looks really nice. The scheme is very warpshadowy .
Also, your art is really cool! I can't really think up a word to describe your style, but it is certainly unique ( in a very good way!).

Yeah!
Welcome on board :D

Your scheme is pretty cool!
But to be the party-pooper, I gues your blending could use a little more work ;) but that shouldn't stop you from posting here!

And I really love your sketches!

Yeah blending is defiantly something I need to work on hehe. I be happy with my swarm eather way, the touchups are coming along great. Those washes are just amazing, the dark green wash is bringing out those details way better then my horrid wash attempts before. Just unshure if I should highlight the back a bit with codex gray since the light shines off pretty nice on the black. Drybrushing the gray on before got a bit messy, so cleaned that up xD

Hot humid days = painting my swarm marathon

To echo Yaleling, welcome, biomass, upgraded from pRon-bot. Thanks for toughing out the registration process - my bad.

Hot, humid, and thus the Cicada. Too bad there are no sound tracks associated with a user on the board...

Fleet looks good - my suggestion would be the basic sniper fex load-out - BS & VC. It's still a decent combo in 5th, and at least the blast won't completely miss as often...

And if you ever get down to the battle bunker in oakville, drop me a line.

The Dog Day Cicadas have begun to rise and fill the air with their high pitched song (or psychic scream lol). Started a few days after my joining xD. Coincidence? =P

I do have my Sniperfex design all loaded out in my head. A Devilfex though I haven't got anything interesting yet. Someday I could make my ultimate Carnifex, just need those FW wrecking claws and rams hehe.

Also scored on a large resin coral branch for $14 were it normally retails for $28+. Use them for board terrain bits but don't have any pictures yet. It looks so nice with some of my nids infront of the one finished piece. I stick the coral onto some carved up floral foam then decorate and paint it up. Same theme as my nids bases.

Here is the brand of said resin coral:

I so want that tree piece, haven't seen it anywhere.

Battle Bunker, sounds fun keke. Still gotta learn how to play, I only have basic knowledge on the war of the hammer.

Updatage! Step sister let me borrow her camera, so new shots ahoy.

Just a picture of all of them together for now, until I get the rest of the images to put together the smaller group shots.

Nice! I really like your basing style; it's reall unique :D . What did you use for those structures on the bases?

Guessing your pointing out the coral bits. I got those at a local decor shop, and just stuck them on and painted them up. I tossed the packages so I don't know the company that distributes them :(
