Had some thought on Sporocysts today, and i think i found a really nice tactic to use them.
I guess in maelstorm missions this one will work really good, but even in normal missions it should work out nicely.

The idea is, to use Sporocysts to hold objective markers. Having 5 wounds and T6 is not bad.
Just make sure to place some mission markers in, lets say "unusual" spots. Like in far corner, or in a deep valley. Its important to keep them as far away from any useful tactical area on the gaming board.
Then use the infiltration rule to hold those mission objectives.
Then produce sporemines every turn to cover up the area around your Sporocysts to keep enemies from getting to close.

If you place the objective well, it should be possible to hold three markers right from the beginning of your game.
That sound pretty awesome for some meagre 225 pts.

The only downside is, that you have to use all of your heavy support slots for this tactic.
But i think you just could get a second FOC to get some other big bugs into your list.

So what do you guys think about that?

It sounds like a decent plan to me Harald. The synapse boost may come in handy, but being able to pump out spore mines would make those objectives even harder for the enemy to take them. No-one wants to take a few S6 large blast if they want to contest or steal the objective with Objective Secured troops. And if the enemy wants to shoot the free spore mines to clear a path - so much the better! I'd much rather the enemy waste firepower on free spore mines than the rest of my army.
