I've been looking at alot of lists lately, and noticed something that confuses me.
Why do people not take both wings and armored shell on flyrants?
I've even seen comments saying that you can't, but I am unable to find a rule for it in our codex.
Seem that a 2+ save on a flyrant would be a great upgrade, though a bit expensive.

RAWIWSACRPA. I know it's not as easy to say as 'RAW,' but it's just as legally binding.

That's not allowed. You can take only one of Wings, Armored Shell or Thorax Swarm.

It says right in the back part with the point costs for Hive Tyrant, "May take one of the following:".

Also... a 270 point base four-wound T6 model, that's only a little more effective in CC than a Tyranid Prime, with no invulnerable? Good?

Even if it was allowed, I'd not see myself ever advising it- you already spend a tonne on the Tyrant. Flyrants are nice because they're relatively cheap. Tyrants are nice because their guard make them into an actual CC unit and give them a lot more survivability than a 2+. 270 min, 325 with common upgrades, for something that a plasma command squad can reliably waste in one round of shooting/can't engage hammernators and survive etc. is not a plan, in my eyes.

We'd see people using it, and we'd see sofa slamming his head against the wall, yelling WHY WHY WHY while onlookers sort of awkwardly point out 'it's like just a game are you really getting stressed out over people's differing opinions about a game on the internet and yes I said opinions sofa because you're not actually an expert you arrogant goof I mean unless you suddenly gained a PhD in bug warfare 101 or were certified in Tyranid Tactician weekly'...
And I'd show them why: LOOK WINGED SHELL TYRANTS- and they'd bloody well join my noggin-whacking.

Excuse any hint of negative tone- I'm trying to go for amusing, not insulting, and would be upset if I actually offended.

Thanks for both replies.

Tropic thanks for pointing out the page. I looked under wings and armor. Another endorsement for my sig!

Sofa, thanks so much for the laughs! I would love a subscription to Tyranid Tactician weekly! (b~_^)b
