The Warpshadow forum is equipped with a built in gallery for members to add images of their Tyranid models and artwork.

Members can register for a gallery at any time during their membership although we advise that the member makes atleast 20 ontributable posts before registering (although exceptions can be made). The following posts are just a brief outline of how to use some of the more basic functions. Remember if you ever have any problems with any gallery functions feel free to private message a moderator or an administrator.

Registering

When you are ready to register for an album to call your own, make your way to the gallery website and press “Register” button in the top-right of the page.

On the next screen you’ll see the following fields:

When filling these fields out it is imperative that you use the same username and e-mail that you used to sign-up for the forums. All members that register have their usernames cross-checked with the forum, and if they don’t exist are immediately deleted.

After registering your account has to be manually activated by an administrator.
Read: Registration Lag

When your account has been activated you should receive an e-mail as well as a PM from an administrator confirming that you’ve been activated.

You can now log on to your gallery account. To find your album you’ll have to scroll through all the albums (Ctrl+F can also be used to search your username).

You album will start off being titled Hive Fleet “Your Username” (“Your Username”)

It should look like this:

Click your album to enter it.

Deleting Images

There are two different methods of deleting images. You can either do it one photo at a time, or you can choose multiple photos to delete at the same time.

Method 1:
The first thing you can do is delete the default album image. You do this by clicking the scroll down menu underneath the picture.

Choosing delete will bring up the following prompt window:

If you click "Yes" the item will now be deleted.

Method 2:
You can also delete multiple items at one by clicking the sidebar button located in the top-left corner.

When extended it will look like this:

Now click the “Delete Items” button in the sidebar. You will now be brought to a page where you can select which images you’d like to delete.

Adding Images

Now that your album is cleared out, you may want to add some of your own Tyranid images. This can be achieved in two ways; you can either click the “Add a photo!” button in the centre of your page, or the “Add Items” button located in the sidebar. Clicking either will bring you to the same page.

The next screen in the add items screen. It normally has two fields to browse for files you’d like to upload, though more can be added by clicking the “More Upload Boxes...” button near the bottom. Remember that trying to upload more images will result in a longer load time.

Clicking the “Add Items” button at the bottom of the page will add the images to your album.

Changing Your Album’s Name

Like stated previously, your album will start off being titled Hive Fleet “Your Username” (“Your Username” [for example Hive Fleet Hive Node (Hive Node)]. This can easily be changed to the hive fleet name of your choice. It is however gallery policy to leave your username in brackets beside your hive fleet name so that other members may find and recognize your album easily.

While in your album click the sidebar button, when the sidebar opens click the “Edit Album” button.

Image

The next page should be on the “General” tab of the “Edit Album” page, if it is not, click the “General” tab.

Image

On the “General” tab you will see several fields. Use the “Title” field to change your hive fleet name, but remember to keep your username in brackets.

Scroll down and press the “Save” button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

Note: The standard naming practice of the album is Hive Fleet ___________ (notice that there is a space between Hive and Fleet), this is the norm, but is by no means the rule, if you have a special name for your hive fleet feel free to change your album to that name (although keep your username in brackets).

Adding a Sub-album

Another feature of the gallery is being able to add sub-albums to your main album (or even another sub-album), this will allow you to organize your items as you see fit.

From your main album screen open the sidebar. When it opens select the “Add Album” button.

Image

On the “Add Sub-album” page there will be several input fields. The first field under the “Name” heading is to designate a URL fragment to your new album. This can be anything you’d like but can only use letters, numbers, underscores and dashes.

The next field is the “Title” field, here you can type what you’d like the title of the sub-album to be (this is the same as re-naming your album). \

The next three fields are the “Summary”, “Keywords” (tags) and “Description” fields. These fields do not have to been filled in when creating an album, but can be if you’d like.

Clicking the “Create” button under the “Description” field will create you album and bring you to the “Edit Album” screen. From here you can choose options in the sidebar.
