So, I just got my box of Space Hulk, and my girlfriend and I played a quick game.

She had holed her Terminators up in a room and I had like 12 Genestealers coming down the hallway for her. It was the map for mission one.

So my question is, can a flamer fire down a corridor?

If yes, does it travel 12 squares down the corridor, or does it go down branching corridors. How does it work?

This is where the two of us were kinda getting confused.

well, as I read it, you can target anything in LoS and within 12 squares (iirc), and the section that target (could be empty square) is in would be flamed and blocked. A section, in this matter, is defined by the size of the thing you put down. So a 3x3 room would be 9 squares and a few entrance/exit squares (so 3x3 with 1 exit square is 10 squares effected). For hallways you have haways of different lengths, from 1 square to 5 I think. And everything in that section of hallways gets burned.

Okay thats what I was confused about, since the hallway was like 4 pieces together, and would be what I considered a section.

Sorry for double posting, but the rules are kind of bugging me.

So even with a corridor that is 3 squares long, that is ow far the fire will go, even if it is connected to another 3-corridor?

It just doesn't seem fair with a range of 12.

Trust me, killing 6 genestealers on an intersection before leaves a dent in the nid's plans. Also, it seals off a corridor for a turn, which is sometimes all the space marine player needs. Any section you place within LOS and 12 squares can be blocked for the genestealer turn, and all genestealers in it fried. Don't underestimate it. Also, it helps not burning your own marines :P

As for imagery: the space hulk has lots of crashed-in bulkheads and exposed piping and such, so sometimes you won't be able to spray a whole lot of corridor with enough fire, and sometimes when you have a smoother space (say, a 5-square corridor or a room) where you can flame large areas at once.
