Hi everyone.

It seems the cults have been blessed with their own faction now, straight out of the boxed game. rules for using it in normal 40k games can be found on the games-workshop website itself. And you have everything you need for a 600 point starting army or ally to your nids.

What I found weird though is that both the genestealers (that we all know and love from our tyranid codex) and the melee-focused hybrids are placed on 32mm bases. Even stranger is that in the ranged hybrids, the models are placed on the well-known 25mm bases except for the ones with heavy weapons, which are again placed on 32mm bases.

To me it seems as if they should all be on 25mm, and that they just adjusted the base size because it looks a bit better (and since its main focus is the board game, that's ok I guess), but that really seems a bit weird to me for normal 40k games. What do you think?

I'm with you vonny.
There is only one melee hybrid (so two models in the kit) that doesn't quite fit on a 25mm base. He (or she perhaps?) has a really wide stance and a piece of rock. Using a 25mm base will require some Spellscape style overhang conversions. :) Unexpectedly, the larger looking aberrants fit on 25mm bases easily.

^This him (her) on the supplied 32mm base.

I'm planning to use the larger bases on the Princelings to distinguish them from my regular 'stealers though. (In case a brood of only two that set up 1" away isn't enough of a give away. :p )

The bigger bases just look a little bit better. But thats all.
Just base them on smaller ones if you prefer it.
