Okay, I'm confused on the Genestealer Hybrid Generations.
I know 4th Generation (in humans at least) is Purestrain.
Do the rest go...
1st Gen: very little difference from basic stock (human or whatever)
2nd Gen: more differences
3rd Gen: even more differences, including extra arms and such

or does it go...
1st Gen: very similar to a Genestealer, only a little of parent stock
2nd Gen: a bit more like parents
3rd Gen: almost totally like parents

The first one makes more sense to me, as they get more and more like Genestealers until they are Purestrains. On the other talon, just because it makes sense doesn't mean that's the way GW has laid it out.

The first sequence is correct. But somehow a magus is also a 4th generation mutant.

And of course, once you get purestrains, the cycle has to start over again as genestealers lack the means of sexual reproduction. (Although that thought does bring up disturbing mental images of 2nd and 3rd generation hybrids rolling around doing the nasty.) (But then again if you animated it, there would probably be a market for it in Japan.... :P )

It is actually the second order, they come out looking more like a mutant, 3 to 4 arms and couldn't pass as a human. The 4th generation could pass as a human and their offspring from the 4th is a purestrain. Here is a good website talking about it.

Also a pic showing the order from pure to 4th. (left to right)

Awesome, thank you guys!

Excellent link, Pittman, it has been assimilated for future infiltrations.

I know this is a really old topic, but it's close to the top of the cult board, so I don't mind reviving it to add...
The 4th gen (almost-human) hybrids are not gauranteed to give birth to purestrains. From what I remember it's actually a rather small chance, although more common than the single magus mutation, obviously.
