Hello all

As a big Tyranid fanboy, I always wanted to have a Genestealer cult army. After a few failed attempts, I kinda let the idea slip away. But at the start of 2011, my friend Theunhappystonetroll made me "promise" to make a new cult army this year.

So it began... I used the Imperial Guard codex and selected some units which I thought would look good in a cult army and at the same time preform well in the game.

A big mob of Brood Brothers outflanking would look good, so I took a big combined Infantry Squad with a commissar, meltaguns and power weapons. The commissar is the Cult Icon Bearer (making everyone Stubborn) and the power weapons are hybrids with big claws. I even added the old Moltov fire bombs. I use them as melta bombs

There also had to be a magus, so at first I used a primaris psyker. After a few battles, I changed him for an astropath so my combined squad would get a buff. Afterall, the magus is there to direct everything in good order.

As for the vehicles, I wanted to have a limousine and cult trucks. I found some non-GW models which were perfect. The cult trucks represent stolen Adeptus Arbites vehicles. The big tanks had to be normal Imp-tanks, but "liberated", so I decorated them with propaganda posters.

But, enough talk, here are some pictures:

Loving the cult Nid. :D The liberated tanks and converted cult trucks very much look the part. And I like your hybrid leaders (squad leaders, officers and commissars.) Those ghoul models do pretty well in there with no modification. (I've tried to nidify some up a little, but I think yours look better since they are painted along with the rest of your army. :P)

thanks :) and thanks to mysteryshadow for fixing the link.

i got the idea to use ghouls from Hydra's cult. They fit in pretty good.
The brood brother comrades (the normal infantry squads) are made using Pig Iron heads, giving them
a Kill Zone-like appearance, ideal for cultists imo

My favourite part is a small detail, and it is the banner. I adore the original Death Wing space hulk expansion reference, and now the art style of Wobbly Model is clear.

Hadn't thought of using ghoul heads - that's a great idea!

Wow that is so awesome. I love the detail and the paint job is so good. Would love to make an army like this. Playing against one would be fun too.
