I have a major tournament coming up and I expect the cheesiest lists to show up. I have never used more then 2 flyrants, even at 3K, but I own 4. Below is what I am thinking of bringing.

What do you guys think, what are the major weaknesses? What armies don't I want to face. I know I have very little Objective Secured. Any changes that people would suggest.

1850 Flyrants and Eldar CAD
Leviathan Detachment
Lev 1 Flyrant with DD and ESG 240
Lev 1 Flyrant with DD and ESG 240
Lev 1 Flyrant with DD and ESG 240

Lev 1 Mucolid 15
Lev 1 Mucolid 15
Lev 1 Mucolid 15

Lev 1 Malanthrope 85

Eldar CAD
HQ 1 Autarch with wings and melta gun and scorpian chainsword 98

T 3 Jetbikes with 3 scatter lasers 81
3 Jetbikes with 2 scatter lasers 71

F 6 Swooping Hawk with Exarch 106

LOW 1 Wraithknight with 2 Scatter Lasers 325

Form 6 Swooping Hawk with Exarch 106
Form 6 Swooping Hawk with Exarch 106
Form 6 Swooping Hawk with Exarch 106

Models 39 Total Points 1849

The idea be to keep just the wraithknight on the board vs some armies, but against others I would also have the tyrants with the malanthrope in cover and the jetbikes out of LOS. All the hawks don't scatter when they land and come in on 2+ (autarch with melta gun is in a regular squad). Hawks deal with objectives, flyers, AV 13/14 vehicles and light to medium infantry. Tyrants deal with everything else and the wraithknight is mainly a bullet magnet. The hawk formation is the Aspect host so they are BS 5 instead of BS 4 and they reroll all morale rolls.

Thoughts?

List looks solid, I don't think I can suggest anything useful. It is time to test this army in action :)

Good luck! And if You had some free time, batreps would be great ;)

I used to do batreps for this site all the time but recently I have been lazy...

This tournament only allows 1 LOW, so no 5 knights lists which are bad for nids. Plus no unit can be more than 899 points so no Eldar Titan (w/e its called).

Also they nerfed D to do 1-nothing, 2-5 d2 wounds and 6 d6 wounds but still ignores all saves. 2++ rerollable is only 2++/4++ instead and invisibility just makes you BS1 so you can fire templates and blasts at them.

Hi,

your list looks good so far, try it and let us know (b~_^)b

But, fluff wise i don´t like your list. Nids and Eldar? No way, we don´t use allies, we devour everything!!!

Allies, YES WE CAN, in know, but for Nids it just don´t works for me.
Call me a fluff player, but somethings need to be done. I think.
But thats a choice everyone has to make for himself.

I actually painted my Eldar to match my true love, the nids! I figure you can use fluff to explain anything. Maybe the hive fleet is small and the Eldar are using them to fight their enemies for them and then want to clean up after and not risk more Eldar lives. Maybe the Eldar psykers have tapped into the Hive mind and are partially controlling this small cut off piece of a fleet.

I generally don't try to ally my nids with anyone, but this tournament is going to be bonkers, I guarantee it.

Played 3 practise games so far. One was against marines/scions with a knight and I almost had them tabled on turn 2 because the army was too many vehicles and too elite-my haywire had a field day.

Then 2 games vs a Eldar with DE list and they just couldn't keep up with my mobility, so far so good! Tomorrow I will practise vs a Tough as nails necron decurion. :) Then I just need to face MSU marines in pods and those are my major fears covered.

I played against the necron player and made many mistakes, more than I have made in a game in years. First turn I had my 3 flyrants all near my wraithknight and I rolled 2 1's on the tyrants for one eye open and one had no place to land so it died instantly... the other failed it again the next turn so he lost 2 turns of usefulness.

However I went first and killed 5 of his 6 wraiths and did a wound on the other turn one and I got lucky and killed 2/6 of a tomb blade unit and they ran off the table for first blood.

It was a long gruelling battle and I played way too aggressive with my hawks and they were tied up with scarabs, small units of crippled necron warriors or a spyder. At one point 3 of my 4 hawk units were in a CC they couldn't win and the 4th was running.

However when it was all said and done he was basically tabled besides a massive out of position lychguard squad and I still had 2 flyrants, a few hawks, one bike, my warlord and the wraithtknight with 3 wounds left. Objectives were in my favour for sure as well.

I need to test this list vs. MSU marines in drop pods!

I don't understand, how Your flyrant didn't have place to land, You simply change the mode to glide and can stay where You were.

When you fail the one eye open roll you can't change flight modes with a flyer and have to move straight forward the minimum distance, 12'.

Really quick summary of some of the games.

Warmasters day 1: Doubles-our lists
1000 Necrons CAD (Katie)
HQ 1 Illuminor Szeras 110

Troops 13 Necron Warriors 169
Troops 10 Necron Immortals 170
Troops 10 Necron Immortals 170

Fast 6 Tomb Blades 108
6 Shieldvanes 12
6 Shadowloom 6

Fast 1 Night Scythe 130

Heavy 1 Annihilation barge 120

Models 54 Total Points 995
1000 Chaos CAD (Myself)

HQ 1 Typhus 230

Troops 30 Plague Zombies 130
30 Plague Zombies 130
30 Plague Zombies 130

Fast 1 Helldrake 170

Heavy 10 Havocs 140
Mark of Nurgle 30
4 autocannons 40

Models 102 Total Points 1000

The idea is that we are almost entirely objective secured and have a lot of models which are fairly durable. Eldar are going to be an issue because they have so much S6 that ignores my zombies FNP. I am just going to do some really quick recaps. There were some very cool missions, especially 3 and 4.
Game 1:
We were vs. 2 Eldar players with like 30+ scatter laser bikes between them, a wraithknight, a farseer on a bike and 3 D cannons with maugan Ra. We basically stuck in cover and tried to survive the beating while holding 3 of the 5 objectives and forcing them to get close. Typhus and his zombies got into a CC with the wraithknight and after 3-4 player turns typhus actually won, then he assaulted and killed another critical bike unit when he had one wound left which secured us a tie and he was the MVP. We tied the primary and won the secondary.

Game 2:
Vs Eldar and IG.
Another wraithknight, some regular bikes, 2 wave serpents with fire dragons, 2 chimeras with melta vets, a command squad with meltas in a chimera with a plasma leman russ, a vendetta and 2 wyverns. My zombies took a beating from the wyverns all game but we got some really lucky rolls. My helldrake made 6 of 6 5++ saves and was the MVP. I then vector striked the vendetta hit it once, immobilized and it crashed onto some fire dragons. The plasma leman russ killed itself in 3 turns of rolling gets hots. My zombies tied up the wraithknight again but by the end typhus had died just as it ended. The game went that way for them and we won the primary and tied the secondary.

Game 3:
Vs Eldar and Eldar. WTF eldar 3 times in a row! There was a lot of eldar at the tournament-surprise surprise! They had like 30-40 scatter laser jetbikes and 4 hemlock wraith bombers. The objectives here were very neat because to score them you needed a unit from both allies within 3 inches. I knew this was going to be trouble again due to the number of bikes so I had a plan, we focused entirely on 1 player. As his units dropped and dropped it was getting harder for them to score objectives since they both needed to be on it. We jumped up to a 7-3 lead by the top of turn 4 (we went first) and one guy had like like 15 of his 20 jetbikes killed by this time while the other guy we had not even fired a shot at him. By this point we were running out of units and by the bottom of 5 we were virtually tabled and they came back to tie the primary and win the secondary.

Game 4:
Vs chaos daemons and space wolves.
Daemons had 2 units of pink horrors, a lord of change, some plague drones, some screamers with the grimore and the SW had a scout squad, the gunship flyer of theirs and a massive thunderwolf cavalry squad. This mission each unit got a marker and when it killed something the marker was removed and you got a kill point, so it meant deathstars could only earn one kill point, so they couldn't do all the work. First turn the screamers and the cavalry all got into CC with my zombies. We basically shot everything else off the table right away until the lord of change and the plague drones came on later The screamers had a 2++ rerollable the entire game and we just tied them up with zombies and then necron warriors. At the end we each had 4 kill points to tie primary so then we just kept backing away and we had the secondary so we had another minor victory.

So against 3 brutally bad matchups and one decent one we ended up with 3 minor victories and 1 minor loss. I also won a raffle and got an imperial knight, the best raffle prize which was in a mystery box. :)
