All three are around 4-5 imo. With the Last One Being the best. In Times of Tau and eldar, trygons are Worth absolutely nothing.

I disagree, yes they got hurt, but if you spam them enough it should still work. Deep strike them all with hive commander and they can't kill them all in one turn and the ones that live assault and murder.

In a 2K list (which is double force chart) I would try to take 4 flying hive tyrants with 2 sets of TL brainleech worms. Eldar are going to have real problems grounding and killing that many targets and if they do, the trygons aren't being touched.

Just for fun try 4 flyrants, 3 trygons and then 72 termagants. :)

Yeah: #3. I'd say the other two are real sparse on synapse coverage.

Why would I want synapse on units that have IB - Feed?

Yeah you deep strike everything just in front of the tau and in this turn....do nothing. Lets say two trygons survive ( which I doubt) Then you attack 10 Fire Warriors or something else which is one unit. You kill one unit with 3 Trygons???? Sry but this works only on paper. A deep strike list can be good - but not with trygons. Play 2 x twin linked Tyrant and 2 x twin linked fex in capsule alongside 2 x 10 devopurer gaunts in capsule and a malantai - no we're talking

Meh, I used a similar list in a local tournament and was tied for first going into the last round, only lost because my final game was a horrible matchup vs necrons that had tons of wraiths and flyers. I also was in 2nd with the same list at a GW league-again, bad matchup against DE took me out in the quarterfinals. Between 2 flyrants, 2 trygons, 1 mawlock and 1 doom all in their face on turn 2 (6 major threats) because of hive commander, not many people could stand up to it and suffered from target priority issues. Nids just have some poor matchups.

The battle reports from those 7 games are all on this site. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=17163 That is game #7.

Just read that Battle report. Kinda cool how you managed the Dark Eldar but still I think how would have made a better place if you wouldnt count on Trygons and mawlocs. if you have 2 Fexes with Dual shots you do massive damage the turn you arrive. Its not that hard to get a vyper down with 12 shots S6. So the turn you arrive you can deal with 4 Vipers ( 2 tyrants, 2 fexes) if you have 2 x dev gaunts that will most likely be the end for 2 more vipers or the squads in them. So you DO damage AND you have the target priority thing on your side. Its vital for a shock swarm to do as much damge as possible the turn it arrives. AS you said the DE players dealt with your mawloc and the trygon in one turn - he would also have don it with the two fexes - but you can take out a lot of stuff with 24 shots Dual S6.

With the number of vehicles he had, killing 2 more venoms with those carnifxes would not have made much of a difference. Plus, 2 dakkafexes in pods is more points than 2 trygons and is 8W at T6 instead of 12W at T6 which means I would have lost them even easier and maybe something else that turn or maybe just the same if my fexes had killed 2 venoms.

I love devilgaunts for the one turn blast, but then I find they get murdered fast and they might not be in synapse so you can have issues with moral.

Anyways-we need to stop derailing this thread. :)

I just don't like the sight of my Hormies running off the edge of the board from a failed leadership test.
