Hey all,

I know new dex has split opinion but I am still wanting to get back into nids. I am thinking of sticking toxin sacs on my gaunts so they can swarm all over Wraithknights.

I want to check that they will still wound on the usual 4+ when they have toxin sacs? Only reason I ask is that strength 3 cannot normally wound toughness 8 (according to BRB "to wound" table).

Note: Having read BRB it appears that poison weapons without a strength profile are deemed to be strength 1. Which would mean that, if poison did not help targets that cannot normally wound others, things like MEQ sniper rifles, DE splinter rifles could not wound Marine bikers etc (because s1 cannot normally wound t5). This would appear to be counter to all gamining I have been involved with before!

Hopefully, your answers will be "its a simple 4+ to wound, regardless of WK being T8" but just want to check!

PS apologies if this has been asked before.

Yes poion will would reguardles; the strength step is only for the purpose of rerolls.

Since gaunts have a stregth of 3.... 4 with adrenal glands n the charge, you could not reroll to wound. But, on a fex, strength of 9, could reroll the 4+ poison on the wraithknight. (Not tht i would put poison on a fex).

Actually the toxin sac fex would wound toughness 8 on a 3+ with a re-roll, thanks to the 6th edition poison rules. :)

in close combat.

Oh, i did not notice that before.... hooray toxin sacs!
