I was just wondering if the 3rd ed flamer template is legal because it looks a lot better than the later ones. However, if you compare them, the 3rd ed template is slightly wider than the 4th and 5th ed templates. I haven't used it yet (and I've mentioned it several times to people already), but is it legal to use? I very much doubt it, but figure at the very least this will bring the issue to other people's attention.

G'day Phalanx.

I've got a bunch of 3rd ed template sets and the new AoBR 'necron' green set too. I just put them over the flamer template in the appendix of the 3rd edition rule book. All are exactly the same size. So I'm not sure what is going on with your old template. :P

Strange. *tried that with m 3rd ed flamer template* My flamer template is bigger than the one in the book. Hmmmmm... Did you check the actual 3rd ed flamer template or just the one in the book?

Both.

(I'm nothing if not thorough.)

So I guess I just have a strangely larger flamer template than usual.

It must have eaten another template, true to the Tyranid spirit.

My 3rd ed. Flamer template is actually smaller. Maybe the 3rd ed. flamer template plastic is somewhat sensitive to reshaping due to temperature conditions or something...
