Accommodator, I was able to decode a futher image of the Dark Omen:

visual confirmation

It does look rather well-sculpted under all that distortion, doesn't it?

Hydra, better run for that brush

Accommodator, if you and your Ordo Xenos colleague are able to track down any more visuals of this thing over the weekend, send them to me for decoding, and I'll post all our decoded images to my gallery.

It does, but lets face it, everyone rips off Hydra's work. Almost as much as they rip off Moloch's work. Two of the greatest Tyranid collectors on this planet.

That is not true. I would not say rip off, they inspire others to work, great work at that. Moloch has been inspiration for me for years but my style is nothing like his. I could not match his if I tried. I think the sculpting from what I can see looks a lot like hydra's. The marks seem similar and the textures. It is easy to tell my work appart from anothers as well.

I trimmed down the head shape to make the head sleeker. can not decect any trimming here. it more bulkier. The mandibles are scythingtalons. mine where scratch. and my dom does not have a pretty cool tounge...
and if you have a close look on this you'll see there is no biocanon... yet...

Esteemed Brood Brothers,

Sherlock Moloch says to re-read the thread title.

That might just be a hint, right ?

I am waiting with baited breath for more revelations........

So, A) either Mr.P is building this, B) Accommodator is possibly involved, C) It is a new item being made, or D) I'm wondering if it's some type of group project. :?

Alright. Enough dorking around:

Trygon was right. Thanks to the lovely inspiration provided by Hydra's beautiful beast, I have wanted to do my own Dom from a Hierodule. I told Accommodator that the one thing holding me back was the funds situation: I couldn't bring myself to spend ~$200CDN on a beautiful model that I was going to cut up and possibly mess up. So, Accommodator, with his disposable income for big, spikey toys stepped in and provided the neccessary funds and the faith in my ability that I myself was somewhat lacking. I would get to try my hand at a Heirodom, and Acc would be the proud owner of the end result.

So, while on hiatus from WS, I have been working on a Dom of my own, taking heavily both from Hydra's work and Warren's original Dominatrix sketch. I was determined not to post anything about it until it was actually done, and Accommodator was, well, accommodating of my want for the "big reveal"!

So, here's some of my work in progress, as well as finished shots. Look forward to hearing what you guys think, particularly Hydra himself, the first Dominator in our midst.

It is definitely my biggest undertaking to date, and it was as rewarding as it was educational.

But, of course, using what I've learned, as well as taking advantage of the inspiration from seeing something come out so close to what I intended, I am already using the excitement to fuel me onto my NEXT creation--the next project in my long-running de-sluggify project that started with the Exocrine.

i really like the look of the symbiotic guy on the back. he looks like handling the controls of the bigger beast.

cool that you have taken so much effort to the underside of the model, mostly this is not done, as many people won´t look there.

i spotted some rests of fingerprints on the GSwork, but i´am sure that you left them there to identify this thing as yours....

start painting the dom, maybe hydra will get pushed to finish his one too.

Wow...

holy jig-saw...

Forgeworld should really start thinking about contacting us and ask us if we make them one :D
Who could have thought that this beast would grow so popular?

Seeing this.. i almost primed my dom... almost!

Okay lets start walking over it:
The tounge is pretty extra ordinary and fits very well to the tail, that kinda frames the whole model. You have used a VC-feeder tube did you?
The head shape in general i am very fond of! It is not as flat as mine (OMG i will try not to compare it always to mine... but that is pretty hard...)
which makes it more deinable as a head and not as a extension of the neck.

The "shoulder-protection" is looking great. You can really see the purpose... and also shows where the body begins, not as someone elses "long neck".

Removing the fins did a great trick to the whole models appearance... away from the "hierodule" look.

The weapon in typical "Mr.Pink-style" adds great charackter to the model.

But here we come to point where i stuck, when i saw it the first time: The hands. I don't want to be rude, but when i have seen those i thought:"Mr.P.... you can do better..."
The fingers are to sleek and to long for their purpose IMO. the outstreched hand is okay... but the flexed fingers are laxking joints where they bend, which gives them an akward appearance.

With the rider you managed something it tried but failed...
I looks as harald said, like controlling or actually riding it. Anyway... it fits great there!

The tail is... enormous! Is it supposed to be an egg tube? so it lays the eggs with the small opening on the tail-tip?
Anyway... it looks like a great deal of work that paid off!

It is hard to critic something like that... especially when you know how much work is in there...
Is it too much if i say that i am proud?!

That is really outstanding. The tail threw me off a little. It might just be me, but it doesn't look like the tail decreases in size as it progresses from the abdomen to the tail-tip. Well, it does when looking at the underside of the tail; it tapers a little but from a horizontal view it looks uniformly thick all the way down. It just seems a little unwieldy to me (which isn't to say that the tail doesn't look good in of itself; I just think that if a tail is going to be that large and thick then the creature would need a long neck to counter-balance it ala brontasaurus). I cannot wait to see both doms finished.
