Just to toss a new topic and maybe help others with a issue I myself Always have. Transporting/ cases for our beloved tyranids.
Now myself have used everything from shoe boxes. Citadel infantry boxes and even a few custom cut foams (me cutting out the shapes not ordering custom cuts), finally ordered my harpy and looking to expand my flyers and gargoyle's from their. So I am on the hunt for a safe and cost efficient case(s). Currently I have several older stlye cases I have to drag around. Each carrying a semi random bulk so for any games not preplanned I got to make multiple trips between my vehicle and the game floor and vise vers when parking to leave. Most my army ends up fine but namely the gargoyles and tyrant (aswell pthers with flaunting parts(wings, over size guns, ect) tend to need minor repair once I get home. And the poor metal models are in complete shambles if their not out right destroyed.

Summary. What are other people using for cases/boxes. Ive seen some good infantry foam and boxes on amazon andthe new crusade case from GW looks promising even if I.
need 2. It would still be better then the 7 boxes now

I just go the way you do. Several boxes, some of them custom made for transporting certain miniature. And yes, its anoying to carry them around....
But so far i was to lazy to find an other solution.

What a friend has done is quite cool.
He glued magnets under the bases and is now using metal boxes to transport his stuff.
This could be awesome for grag´s, me thinks.

I like the magnet idea. Specialy for my alternate wargear, talons, claws, deathspitters ect. Back I don't think itll help with my big guys and gargoyles. Or even my metal heads.

Metals simply to heavy. As for the big guys namely a custom flyrant his wing's.Consistently snap off. And poor gargoyles I dont think I can repair any more. I've tried magnetization on their bases it helped but wings kept snapping

Oh, yeah, i didn´t think about metal models.
They are a pain to carry around. I got quite some of them.

So in general i think to build your own, customfit foam carry solution will work out best.

It's more my winged character's im concerned. The metals im slowly replacing with newer versions. But I hust can't find a solution for my flyers. Magnetized bases to the model helped but the larger wings I just cant find magnets strong enough.
