So I just wanted to let you guys know some of my early findings with the kits so far (I will post some pictures tonight hopefully).

There is a box that makes either 5 Acolyte Hybrids or 5 Hybrid Metamorphs.

The hybrids are very similar to the ones in the deathwatch overkill box so I would use this kit to make metamorphs and I did, twice. However the best upgrades for them seem to be the whips or the claws and the box comes with 2 whips and 1 claw...which is very disappointing so on 10 models I was short 4 whips and so I used spore mines to make them morning stars. :) But I also used the 2 leaders to make into a Acolyte Iconward which are out this week-end. So using the overkill box and 2 metamorph kits, plus 4 spore mines I was able to make 2 HQ's and 10 metamorphs equipped the way I wanted to. There were a lot of dual arms I had to cut apart and shape a bit and re-glue them as single arms to make it possible.

It looks like bio-fails! Cleaver little conversion.

I wont be diving into the cults until I get this deamon backlog done.

A double post since I decided to build the deathwatch overkill cult I purchased off a friend, and wanted to post some building tidbits.

4 Acolytes have boneswordy looking daggers, and I don't want any boneswords in the unit. The 2 with the double blades I just did a hand swap with rending claws. The other two you can just file off the alien bumps to easily turn it into a normal metal blade.

Eventually, I will be getting a box of Neophytes to build up more weapon options. Not sure if I want to keep the grenade launcher guys, so if a weapon swap is doable I will post it up.

I may convert an iconward to save money too.

I will tinker with metamorphs too. Again, the kit will be a later purchase.

Also, in the bonesword fluff blurb, it mentions they are grown from the Patriarchs osseous throne. I may want to sculpt that onto the Patriarchs base. We have no idea what it looks like, so I'll have to use my imagination!

Since I've got a metric ton of old genestealer models sitting around, I took a run at cutting and repositioning some plastic stealer legs to work as acolyte legs. Then all you need is a new hybrid torso (neophyte or acolyte), some niddy arms (can use the wealth of clawed hands in the stealer box) and a autopistol arm to make an acolyte.

It's not a PERFECT solution for extending the life of the hybrid boxes since there are a limited number of torsos in there, but with some clever bits ordering of torsos, and the use of the wealth of extra heads and arms we have, it could get you a couple more hybrids for cheap :D

Here's the one I put together with old genestealer legs, converting a mining laser into a rocksaw. All I did was cut the legs from the torso, then split them along the center of the pelvis and reangle the one that was sticking out behind. I heated the foot with a halogen lamp and pressed it into a hard surface to splay the toes a bit and make it look a bit more like it was standing.
