The back/waist/spine area was going to be done in typical Tyranid gribble/spine style. However, the battery organ idea is a very good one- I might do that. I reckon I could put some of those Adrenal Glands to good use...I am going to be doing a huge "generator parasite" on its back, so the smaller batteries can take cues from that. I'm thinking a gross, lumpy, bumpy sphere of chitin with electroconductive needles sticking from between the bumps.

Also, Teslacrine is perfect- consider her named!

Wow, those legs really make it look menacing, and I really like the concept as well.

If you're having trouble sculpting ribs, try following this series of shots by our old Master Hydra. It took me some time to work out, but it resulted in easy to do good looking ribs.

Yeah, it's still WIP. I need to work up the will to finish those damnable ribs.

I want to see pics of this guy assembled and standing on those crushing knuckles. Get to it!

Well the crushing knuckles are going to be painted separately, so he won't be assembled until he's painted. Sorry!

On the plus side I have cleared up my workspace a lot so hopefully I can get some more sculpting done. I don't have much more of the ribs to do.

Also, I'm wondering about how I'm going to do the "bio-generator". I wanted something different from the usual rows of vents on her back, and I'm thinking of replacing the vents with curving conductor spines. However, I'm not sure what to do for the central part of her back. I have 2 ideas:

1: A big pulsating spherical bio-electrical organ, covered in filaments and nodules, positioned on her back similarly to the shield generators on the Gungan Warbeasts in Star Wars 1.

2: A big complex "sail" like on a Spinosaurus, acting like a big electrical vane of some description.

3: Anything else you guys might have thought of.

Thoughts?

Ooh! I know the right bit... you want the electric mandibles from the trygon prime. They're the electrified nid bit that escaped my brain when I suggested that earlier.

Anyway, I'll race you. I have 2 carnifexes, 2 malanthropes and my dimachaeron on my painting table... ETA one week. See if you can get another pic of your teslacrine in front of us before I finish that lot off and put some pics up.

Failing all else, put some poster tac in place and show what it all looks like assembled... you don't have to glue it if you're going to paint it seperately. All my dimachaeron shots have the arms tacked in place.

Roughly blu-tacked into place. This isn't final- they still need putty to blend them together better, and position is subject to change of course.

I would upload more pics but my internet is so slow right now that it's enough of a pain getting these up.

That's looking really good. The beefy arms really make the model bigger.

I was expecting it to drag them on the floor... though it looks pretty menacing swinging the arms about.

I could possibly pose them to be doing that, but i don't think they're really long enough (unless i hack them apart and repose the joints).

I wasn't sure about this model before, but seeing it all together like this it has a super creepy, overgrown spider vibe, which I'm really diggin'. Keep up the good work!

Ordered some Trygon Prime mandibles, so hopefully they'll be coming in the post soon.

So I've sculpted the gribbly blob that will be grasped by the Trygo Prime mandibles. Made out of putty, beads and cocktail sticks.

That is really original.
