So, to kick off my Nid blog, I drew up the first pages of my "hopefully" long enough "comic" that will go through the birth of my fleet. More detail about the fleet will be in the pages to come. Pics of either miniatures or more pages will come with each update.

Cheers

I painted up this warrior to check that the color scheme works for bigger bugs, this guy, along with a termagant were made for the deciding if the paintscheme'll work properly. More on the Gaunts later.

That's some promising looking first pages for a comic, and a very nice color scheme as well! Really nice in my oppinion.

Really nice background to shoot your pictures on too :)

Totally awesome start! I love the painting on the warrior, and would love to see a nid-related comic. Keep going!

@Terrorfex
I have a Wacom Intuos 3 A4, one of the best things I've ever bought. Not been using it enough tho, but I intend to start using it more. Digital art is the easiest there is, people just easily think that it's hard because there's a ton of different techniques you CAN use, but you should start out just fiddling around with it. There so many different things you can do to affect the image, that it's pointless trying to learn it all at once, you don't learn aquarelle technique overnight either. :) I whole heartedly recommend it, it IS the way of the future. And offcourse, it's Wacom or nothing. ;)

Cheers

What software are you using with yours? I got a bamboo pen and have been using corel painter. Only problem is I can't find out how to use a select box and some other stuff.

Finished converting the 3rd tervigon. The newest one is the one that will perform the duties of being the HQ tervigon when one is used. All the tervigons are similar, but still personalized. The arms are not attached since they seriously get in the way of painting. I've painted some bsaecolor over the 2 other tervigons to check the GS "good enough" to proceed with proper paint, sort of like a sanding primer. The newest one I left without paint for these pics incase someone wanted to see the GS and parts configurations...

More to come laters. Comments on the tervis?

@Mewiththeface
I use photoshop, easy to use, very versatile. Haven't used painter as of yet.

Cheers

I like all of them and two would be better if the scytal blended from the back carapace.
I was wondering what extra plastic bits you were using that I have no idea where they are from.
Also, got photoshop CS4, working good, I like it, just need some practice.

Finished the Tervigon, might add some clear varnish to area around the hatching gaunt, but that's after I do the protective varnish, which I'll do in bigger batches later on. :)

@Me with the face. All the plastic bits on the tervis, except for the eggs is from the carnifex or trygon kit. The eggs are from the FB starter set goblin spiders.

Cheers

Very nice! The front plate on the back carapace looks really good, and the stippled pattern on the tail looks great!

Added some to come stuff to my WIP folder at the gallery. Added the older stuff(T-fex etc) there as well.
Swarmlord WIP, 2nd pair of arms not attached for the pic. He's positively huge, I'll get the normal HT with the gun upgrades as well, get a nice comparision shot then. :)

Trygons/Mawlocs WIP, different poses, will take bigger pics once I finish the deck platings they are on, or bursting through. :)
